A'SA (aka Amy) is a multifaceted visionary, award-winning actress, author, and motivational speaker. Her mission is to change the narrative around mental illness and shift perception from shame to superpower by bridging the gap between our labels and our stories. She moves audiences with her unapologetic authenticity and empowers others to break free of the carnivorous shame spiral, to love the artist within, and to turn their situations into their superpowers.
"I understand being an actor and playing parts once kept me alive. Now, I am tasked with playing the most important and scariest role of my life... my future self." -A'SA Eden
A'SA is an energy psychologist, speaker, author, and mental health educator.
In 2009, she received her BA in Psychology and Theatre, Cum Laude from UNC-Charlotte. A'SA went on to become a Holy Fire Usui Reiki Master, a certified professional coach, and an ordained minister.
She is also an award-winning actress, director, and photographer.
What people may not know is that she has navigated life with a debilitating, undiagnosed mental illness for over four decades and is 1 of the 1.7 million adults who have attempted suicide. She has traversed the carnivorous, self-imposed shame spiral to address stigma from within.
For over a decade her production company Flatbread Media was the leading content creator for Mental Health America of Central Carolinas (MHACC), where she witnessed courageous MHACC storytellers work to break stigma one conversation at a time.
In October 2021, she discovered ‘courage is contagious’ when she finally got her mental health diagnosis. Since then, she has worked hard to create bridges from fear to faith in her recovery journey by changing the language around mental illness and telling her own story.
Using her unique experiences and energy psychology, she guides others to turn their labels into superpowers, not their ‘cross to bear’.
Spreading courage while teaching people how to rewrite their stories and love themselves ‘shadows’ and all.
Her mission is to change the narrative around mental illness and to shift perception from shame/stigma to superpower by bridging the gap between our labels and our stories.
